They used to ask Benno Engel (Luckenbach Owner until 1970) why he didn’t hire somebody to help him with the bar, suggesting that some people might be waiting on them selves and then forgetting to pay. He said, “Well, maybe some of them are, but you know it’s cheaper than hiring somebody.”
Sol Patch emerged out into the music scene in early 2000. They put together a strong repertoire of songs, quickly developed a loyal following, and soon became a favorite amongst the small, but fast-growing music scene in the Texas Hill Country region.
One of the best things to happen to the Hill Country music scene this year was the emergence of the duo known as ShAnnie. Comprised of local musicians Shan Kowert & Annie Acton, ShAnnie released their debut album Water Over Stones recently and it’s quickly gaining notice.
